Scanning, image enhancement, and text recognition run on your device. Cloud account features and PDF backup are optional.
Information processed on your device
ScanSlate processes captured images, detected document edges, recognized text, folders, tags, and generated PDF files locally. This information remains in the app's private device storage unless you choose an account feature described below.
Account and cloud information
If you create or use an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, display name, profile image URL, provider identifier, unique user ID, and authentication data. Firebase also processes IP address and basic app or client information to secure authentication. ScanSlate can synchronize settings, folders, and document metadata to your private Firebase account area. PDF files are uploaded to private Firebase Storage only when you enable Private PDF Backup. Recognized document text and source page images are not uploaded by ScanSlate.
App integrity
Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity may process app metadata, device integrity signals, license status, and attestation tokens to protect account, database, and backup services from fraud and abuse. These services are not used by ScanSlate for advertising or tracking.
Purchases
Apple App Store or Google Play processes subscription purchases. The app receives purchase status, transaction verification data, and product information needed to provide and restore paid features. ScanSlate does not receive your full payment card details.
Use, sharing, and retention
Information is used to provide authentication, synchronization, private backup, fraud prevention, and purchased features. ScanSlate does not sell personal information. Cloud providers process data only to operate these features. Account data remains until you delete the account or until retention is required for security, legal, or transaction records.
Your controls
You can use the scanner without an account, disable PDF backup, sign out, delete local documents, or permanently delete your account from the Account screen. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data according to your operating system's behavior.
Security and children
ScanSlate uses platform-protected app storage, authenticated database and storage rules, and encrypted network connections. No system is completely secure. ScanSlate is a business productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13.
